Features to know about

Push-Button Lifting Power

You remember those mornings spent fighting with a manual jack, hands sore before the day even starts. This 3,500 lb electric A-frame jack connects through your 7-way plug, so you press the switch and let the motor raise or lower your trailer. It delivers 18" of powered lift, making it a strong fit for smaller campers and light-duty trailers.

Drop Leg

The drop leg gives you up to 9.75 inches of extra height in seconds. The pull-pin design adjusts in 2" increments, helping you get close to level before fine-tuning. If you're setting up before sunrise or rolling in late, the built-in LED lights up your coupler. And if you ever lose power, the backup crank lets you finish hooking up and move on.

SnapPad Adds a Wider Footprint

SnapPad

This kit includes a 7-3/4" octagonally-shaped SnapPad, with a 6" round inset, that permanently attaches to the jack's foot plate. The heavy-duty rubber pad increases ground contact to help reduce sinking in soft grass or gravel. It also helps cushion the metal foot against asphalt or concrete, helping reduce scuffs and vibration.

Built for Real Life

Rain rolls in and mud follows you into camp. Road spray coats everything underneath your trailer. Water-resistant construction helps protect the motor, while rubber guards help keep moisture out of the switches and crank opening after a long night of bad weather. Bolt the jack onto your A-frame with the included hardware, connect the 7-way, and you're ready for the next stop. The integrated SnapPad adds a wider rubber base that stays attached, giving you more footing on soft ground without dragging out extra blocks.

How to Pick the Right Trailer Jack Capacity

Your jack needs to lift the tongue weight, usually 10 to 15% of your trailer's total weight. For example, if your trailer weighs 6,000 lbs fully loaded, your tongue weight will typically be around 600 to 900 lbs. Choose a jack rated comfortably above that number.

Important 7-Way Power Note for Some Ford Trucks

This jack draws power through your vehicle's 7-way connector, and that setup may not work with many Ford F-150 trucks from 2015 and newer that use a smart 7-way. On those trucks, the 12V circuit may only provide limited managed current after the trailer is positively detected and other conditions are met. That circuit is not intended to run a high-draw device like this jack motor. This issue is commonly tied to factory tow packages, including Ford Trailer Tow Package and Max Trailer Tow Package, while many base models do not have the same limitation. If you want to confirm your vehicle-side 7-way is working properly, see our help article: Testing a Vehicle Side 7-Way Trailer Connector for Proper Function .

Works great for my trailer pulled with 2015 Silverado but when a friend uses his Ford F150 it doesn't. Seems the F150 requires the recognition of being connected to a trailer to activate the 12V supply pin. Not sure why ETrailer didn't think of this when the F150 is the biggest selling pickup in the country. Maybe there is a quick workaround but sadly we haven't found it yet.

  • How Tall Is The Mounting Plate From The Bottom Of The Foot On The etrailer Jack e22QV?
Hi Mark! From the bottom of the mounting plate to the bottom of the foot plate on the etrailer Electric Trailer Jack w/ 7-Way and SnapPad - Drop Leg - A-Frame - 18" Lift - 3.5K # e22QV you are looking at just under 9" (8-7/8" to be exact). With the SnapPad installed, you will need to add another inch to that. So call it 10" with the SnapPad installed. What are wanting to install this on and what vehicle will you be plugging it in to?

  • How Long is the Power Cord on the etrailer Electric Trailer Jack w/ 7-Way e72QV?
Hey James. The 7-way cord is 4' long on the etrailer Electric Trailer Jack item # e72QV. This is a 3,500 lbs tongue weight capacity jack that fits a standard A-Frame bolt pattern. It has a total lift height of 18". We also have the etrailer Electric Trailer Jack item # e22QV, which is the same jack it just comes with a SnapPad. If you regularly park on gravel, dirt, grass, or uneven surfaces, this would be a good upgrade. What kind of trailer do you have? You can add this information,...

  • Is there an Adapter Bracket for a Electric Trailer Jack to be Side Mounted?
Hey Brian, thank for reaching out! What you're looking for would be nice but unfortunately, we do not offer a bracket that converts a standard A-frame electric jack into a side mount jack. A-frame jacks and side-mount jacks are designed differently and use different mounting methods, so there isn't a bolt on bracket that we can recommend for safely converting one style to the other. If you'd to reply with the trailer's weight capacity, I'd be happy to recommend an electric side mount...

  • Troubleshooting the Motor Running Rough/Loudly on the etrailer Electric Trailer Jack
Hi April, The etrailer Electric Jack w/7-way part # e22QV is a sealed unit and doesn't require grease or internal lubrication. If the motor on your jack is running rough, there are a few things we can check to see if that improves it. I would check that the jack is getting a full 12V from the 7-way's black wire using a circuit tester and that the vehicle's 7-way has a good ground. If it is grounded to the frame on top of the paint, the poor ground can cause inconsistent motor operation...

  • Does etrailer Electric Trailer Jack Require Grease
Hey Penny! I'm glad you're excited about the etrailer Electric Trailer Jack w/ 7-Way and SnapPad # e22QV. The jack is a sealed unit and not designed to be taken apart. Also, it does not require any grease for maintenance. I wouldn't try to add grease since the grease can capture dirt and cause problems for the jack. Where are you headed next with the horses?

  • Looking For Electric Jack For 6x12 Enclosed Trailer That Plugs Into Silverado OEM 7 Way For Power
Hey Mark! All three of these etrailer jacks - the # e72QV 3,500 lb, the # e22QV 3,500 lb with SnapPad, and the # e82QV 5,000 lb with SnapPad - are powered directly through your truck’s 7-way plug. So with your Silverado’s factory 7-way, you can simply plug the jack in and run it without adding a trailer battery or wiring anything permanently. For a 6x12 enclosed landscaping trailer, the # e72QV is typically more than enough capacity. If you’re parking on gravel, dirt, or soft ground at...

  • Replacing Old Manual Jack On 2018 Jayco Jay Flight Travel Trailer - Comparing Electric Jack Upgrades
Hey Angela, you’re thinking about this exactly the right way. Electric tongue jacks are sized based on tongue weight, not total trailer weight. With your 750–800 lb tongue weight, the 3,500 lb models of our etrailer electric trailer jacks # e72QV or # e22QV are already operating well within their limits. The # e82QV 5,000 lb would give you extra overhead, but it isn’t required for your setup. If you camp on gravel or uneven ground, the # e22QV (which is the # e72QV plus the SnapPad kit)...

  • What Is The Difference Between Etrailer Electric Trailer Jacks e72QV & e22QV With SnapPad?
Tyler, great question - and it’s definitely more than cosmetic. The etrailer electric trailer jacks # e72QV and # e22QV are mechanically identical 3,500 lb jacks. Same motor, same lift height of 18", same 7-way plug power. The only difference is that the # e22QV includes the SnapPad in the kit. The SnapPad: -Expands the footprint to about 7-3/4" diameter -Helps prevent sinking in gravel, sand, or soft soil -Adds grip on wet surfaces -Protects concrete or asphalt from metal foot marks...

  • Can I Still Manually Crank The etrailer Electric Trailer Jack If It's Not Hooked Up To Truck's 7 Way
Hey Brian, completely fair concern - and yes you can, so you won’t be stuck. The etrailer eclectic trailer jacks like 3,500lb # e72QV, 3,500lb with snappad # e22QV, and 5,000lb # e82QV include a manual emergency override. There’s a rubber cap on top of the jack head that you remove, and the included crank handle lets you manually raise or lower the jack if power isn’t available. So even though these are powered by your truck’s 7-way during normal use, you still have a mechanical backup....

  • What is Max Amp Draw Rating of etrailer Jack # e22QV
Hey Steve, the amp draw of the etrailer jack part # e22QV is 20 amps. This is normally not a problem for the 12 volt accessory circuit of the 7-way it would be plugged into.

  • Does the etrailer Electric Trailer Jack w/ 7-Way and SnapPad Come w/a Cover?
No, it does not James. The etrailer Electric Trailer Jack item # e22QV includes a 7-way connector and snap pad but not cover. The plastic housing will keep water from getting inside and damaging the controls. All of the buttons are covered in a flexible rubber that keeps the elements out and protects the housing. For a compatible cover, I recommend the etrailer Protective Cover item # e27VV. This vinyl cover will not only protect your jack from the elements while in storage, but also...

  • Jack For Camper That Has 3 Bolt Hole On Tongue And Doesn't Require Hardwiring To Battery On Trailer
Hey Karen! If you already carry a drill, the etrailer Manual Sidewind Trailer Jack w/SnapPad and Drill Adapter # e38AV is a nice middle ground between a basic hand crank and a wired electric jack. It fits the standard 3" on-center A-frame bolt pattern, has a 2,000 lb capacity, and gives you 14" of lift. You can run it with the included 3/4" socket and a non-impact drill, but you still have the manual sidewind handle as a backup. The included SnapPad is also helpful at campsites since it...
